Publication Ethics
Scholaria International Journal of Research, published by Scholaria Publications, is committed to maintaining academic integrity, transparency, fairness, and responsible scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to uphold ethical standards and contribute to the reliability of the scholarly record.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts represent original work, accurately report research findings, and appropriately acknowledge the contributions of others. All sources, data, figures, tables, and previously published materials must be cited or credited as required.
Authors must not engage in plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, or other forms of research misconduct. Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to multiple journals unless an explicitly permitted exception applies.
Authors are responsible for obtaining applicable ethical approvals, informed consent, permissions, and other required authorizations. Relevant funding information, conflicts of interest, contributions, and corrections to submitted information must be disclosed accurately. All listed authors should approve the final manuscript and consent to its submission.
2. Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts fairly and making editorial decisions based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance to the journal's scope, ethical compliance, and reviewer assessments where applicable.
Editors must protect confidential manuscript information, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and arrange independent editorial handling when a conflict could compromise impartiality. Manuscript decisions must not be improperly influenced by personal relationships, institutional affiliations, commercial interests, subscription revenue, or other inappropriate considerations.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, timely, and evidence-based assessments of manuscripts within their areas of expertise. Reviews should support the improvement of scholarly work and must not contain personal attacks or discriminatory comments.
Reviewers must treat manuscripts and review materials as confidential, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and decline assignments when they cannot provide an impartial assessment. Unpublished information must not be used for personal advantage or disclosed without appropriate authorization.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher
Scholaria Publications is responsible for supporting responsible publishing practices, maintaining appropriate publication policies, and providing the resources needed to address credible concerns about research integrity. The publisher should cooperate with the editorial team in investigating allegations and correcting the scholarly record when necessary.
The publisher should ensure that publication terms, subscription conditions, copyright arrangements, and applicable author charges are communicated transparently. Commercial considerations must remain separate from independent editorial judgments.
5. Research Misconduct
Research misconduct may include plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, duplicate or redundant publication, manipulated images, undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research practices, and inappropriate authorship.
Concerns may be reported to the editorial office with relevant supporting information. The journal should assess credible allegations fairly, maintain appropriate confidentiality, provide affected parties with a reasonable opportunity to respond where appropriate, and document the investigation and its outcome.
Depending on the findings, possible actions may include requesting clarification, correcting a manuscript, rejecting a submission, issuing a correction or retraction, or notifying an appropriate institution or authority when justified.
6. Corrections and Retractions
The journal is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. If a published article contains a significant error, the journal should assess whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or other editorial notice is appropriate.
Corrections should clearly identify the affected publication and explain the relevant changes. Retractions should be issued when justified by the evidence and should explain the reason for the action to the extent appropriate. Where practicable, the original publication record should remain identifiable with a clear notice of its status.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose relevant financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other interests that could influence, or appear to influence, their judgment.
Disclosed conflicts should be assessed and managed through appropriate safeguards, including reassignment of editorial responsibility or independent review where necessary.
8. Editorial Independence and Subscription Model
Scholaria International Journal of Research follows a subscription-based access model. Subscription income, commercial relationships, and payment arrangements must not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected.
Editorial decisions should be made independently according to scholarly quality, research integrity, relevance to the journal's scope, and established editorial criteria. A subscription purchase or payment of any applicable charge must not be presented as a guarantee of manuscript acceptance or publication.
9. Peer Review and Confidentiality
Manuscripts should be evaluated according to the journal's stated peer-review policy. Reviewers and editors must protect confidential information and use manuscript materials only for authorized editorial purposes.
The journal should communicate its review model, editorial procedures, and relevant publication requirements clearly to authors.
10. Ethical Research and Participant Protection
Research involving humans, animals, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with applicable legal, ethical, and institutional requirements. Authors must provide appropriate ethics approval, consent statements, and supporting information where required by the nature of the research.
11. Complaints and Appeals
Authors, reviewers, readers, and other stakeholders may raise concerns about editorial decisions, publication practices, or alleged ethical violations through the journal's designated contact channel. Complaints should be reviewed fairly and, where practicable, by individuals without relevant conflicts of interest.
Requests for reconsideration or appeals should follow the journal's applicable complaints and appeals procedures.
12. Policy Review
This policy should be reviewed periodically by the editorial and publishing teams to maintain consistency with applicable ethical standards, legal requirements, and the journal's actual editorial procedures.
13. Contact Information
Questions or concerns regarding publication ethics may be directed to the journal's editorial office.
