Deposit Policy

Scholaria International Journal of Research, published by Scholaria Publications, recognizes the importance of responsible scholarly communication and the preservation of research outputs. This policy outlines the conditions under which authors may deposit manuscript versions in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and other appropriate research platforms.

1. Manuscript Versions

The permissions applicable to manuscript deposits depend on the version of the work and the terms of the relevant publication agreement.

  • Preprint: The manuscript version prepared before formal peer review. Deposit permissions will be governed by the journal's approved preprint and submission policies.
  • Accepted Manuscript: The version incorporating revisions accepted after peer review but before final publisher formatting. Deposit is subject to the applicable publication agreement and any specified embargo.
  • Version of Record: The final published article. Authors may deposit or redistribute this version only where expressly permitted by the applicable license, publication agreement, or written authorization.

2. Permitted Deposit Locations

Where permitted by the applicable policy and publication agreement, authors may deposit eligible manuscript versions in institutional repositories, university repositories, recognized subject repositories, or personal academic webpages.

Deposit in commercial research platforms, academic networking websites, or other third-party services remains subject to the relevant copyright and sharing conditions.

3. Embargo Periods

Any embargo period applicable to an accepted manuscript or published article will be specified in the journal's approved deposit policy or the applicable publication agreement. Authors should confirm the permitted deposit date before making a manuscript publicly accessible.

4. Attribution and Citation Requirements

Where manuscript deposit is permitted, authors should provide appropriate attribution to the published work. The citation should include the article title, author names, journal name, publication year, volume, issue, page range or article number where applicable, and DOI if one has been assigned.

When permitted and applicable, deposited manuscripts should include a link to the official published article and a statement identifying the deposited manuscript version.

5. Copyright and Licensing Restrictions

Authors must comply with the copyright, licensing, and distribution terms applicable to their articles. Depositing a manuscript does not automatically transfer copyright or grant permission to distribute the final published version.

Authors are responsible for checking whether third-party material included in their manuscripts is subject to separate deposit or redistribution restrictions.

6. Subscription-Based Access

Scholaria International Journal of Research follows a subscription-based access model. Access to subscription- restricted published content is governed by the journal's subscription terms and applicable publication agreements.

Repository deposit permissions for individual articles must be consistent with the applicable copyright, licensing, and manuscript-sharing policies. Subscription access restrictions and author deposit rights should therefore be interpreted separately.

7. Policy Compliance and Updates

Authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office before depositing a manuscript if the permitted version, deposit location, embargo period, or reuse conditions are unclear. This policy may be updated as the journal establishes and formally approves its manuscript-sharing arrangements.
