Copyright, Open Access and Licenses

Scholaria International Journal of Research, published by Scholaria Publications, is intended to operate under a subscription-based access model. This policy explains the principles governing copyright, access to published content, reuse permissions, and the use of third-party material. The final terms applicable to each article will be determined by the journal's approved publication agreements and licensing policies.

1. Copyright Ownership

Copyright ownership for submitted and published manuscripts will be governed by the publication agreement accepted by the relevant authors and the publisher. The applicable agreement should clearly identify whether copyright remains with the authors or is transferred or licensed to the publisher.

Authors should review the applicable copyright terms before completing a publication agreement. The journal's final policy will specify the rights retained by authors and the rights granted to Scholaria Publications.

2. Access Model

The journal follows a subscription-based access model. Access to subscription-restricted articles and other designated content is subject to the applicable subscription terms. Subscription access determines the conditions under which content may be accessed; it does not, by itself, determine copyright ownership or grant permission to reproduce or redistribute published material.

3. Open Access Policy

Unless an article is expressly designated as open access under a separate, clearly stated arrangement, articles published under the journal's subscription model should not be assumed to be openly licensed for unrestricted reuse.

Any open access option, author self-archiving permission, or alternative publishing arrangement must be governed by the journal's formally approved policy and the applicable agreement for the article.

4. Reuse and Licensing

Reuse of published articles, including copying, redistribution, translation, adaptation, commercial reuse, or republication, is subject to applicable copyright law, the article's stated license, and any permissions granted by the relevant rights holder.

The journal will identify the applicable license or reuse conditions where required. No Creative Commons license or other blanket reuse license is implied unless it has been explicitly assigned and documented for the relevant content.

5. Third-Party Content

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce third-party material when permission is required. This may include photographs, illustrations, figures, tables, substantial text extracts, and other copyrighted material owned by someone else.

Appropriate acknowledgements, attribution, and license notices must be included where required by the rights holder or applicable license. Authors should retain documentation of permissions and provide it to the editorial office when requested.

6. Author Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that their submissions do not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. They should accurately identify the origin of reused material, comply with applicable permissions, and disclose any restrictions that could affect publication or subsequent reuse.

7. Permissions and Copyright Enquiries

Requests to reproduce, distribute, translate, adapt, or otherwise reuse published content should be directed to the appropriate copyright holder or authorized permissions contact. The journal's editorial office can provide guidance on identifying the applicable rights and permissions process.
