Abstract:

Education is one of the strongest tools of society, but success in education is still not uniformly attained. Parental education is one of the many variables affecting student achievement that has proven to be a strong one. Parents who have completed higher education are more likely to have positive environments at home, high expectations for their children, and to feel more confident in interaction with educational institutions. This systematic literature review aimed to bring together the fragmented and inconsistent evidence base on the impact of parental education on student outcomes, and to explore the ways in which researchers have examined the link between these two concepts in different global contexts, as well as the patterns that emerged.
